Leadership Development Events should be a priority to enhance your agricultural science curriculum.
If you haven't already started, it's not too late. Be sure to check out the rules first at:
http://ffa.mytexasffa.net/Competitions/LDE.aspx
If you need a way to introduce LDE's click on the lesson to the right. There is a teacher and student version.
Remember:
- Each district has their own contest -- look at the calendar on the home page to be sure to get entered on time. Talk with your district president ahead of time. You also have a judging assignment.
- Area I LDE Contest @ WTAMU -- Saturday, November 21, 2009. Registrations will begin at 8 am. Both Chapter Conducting Contests will start at 8 am. All other contests, including the quiz will begin at 9 am. Quiz teams must enter at the same time, but do not have to arrive until 11 am. Consult the area directory for more information.
- We will need judges for both area and state. There is monetary compensation for these events and it is the best way for you to learn to be a good judge.
- After your district contest, results will be compiled and posted here.
- The order of area is posted. Be sure to see where you will be competing. If you have a conflict, call the school from your district first and then let me know if you switch with them. I will not make any switches unless YOU contact the school and make arrangements with them.
- If you have conflicts with students on multiple teams, be sure to let me know so I can have it listed for the judges.
- Enter online at www.judgingcard.com. You must have completed your roster first. You will be able to print a receipt for your records after registration.
- Registration ends November 18th.
- Bring your check with you to the contest or mail it to Josh Stewart at Ralls.
- Substitutions may be done online.
